About us

ABOUT US

Mangará is a Belgian-based footwear brand with Brazilian roots. We design leather shoes that are made to last. Combining timeless style, genuine comfort, and responsible craftsmanship.

Every pair is handcrafted in Brazil by skilled artisans, using premium leather sourced from Leather Working Group Gold-rated suppliers, the global standard for responsible leather production.

Our name

The word "Mangará" comes from the Tupi-Guarani languages of Brazil. Indigenous people gave this name to the banana flower — a heart-shaped bloom. Because for them, it represented beauty born from nature. For us, it represents the same: something made with care that lasts.

The founder

Mangará is led by Patricia Cossettin, a Brazilian entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in business, spanning fashion, product design, and international trade across Brazil, China, and Europe. Patricia is not only the founder; she is also a shoe creator, passionate about design, craftsmanship, and the emotional story behind each pair. After relocating to Belgium, she created Mangará to bring the warmth and craftsmanship of Brazilian shoemaking to European customers who value quality over quantity, using premium leather sourced from Leather Working Group Gold rated suppliers. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit and an eye for design, Patricia believes deeply in long term partnerships built on trust, transparency, and shared growth.

OUR COMMITMENT

We believe in slow fashion — pieces designed to be worn for years, not seasons. For Mangará, mindful production and mindful consumption are the only way forward.
